Our Client Selection Criteria

“We pride ourselves on our willingness to work with small clients, but I'm afraid we have our limits.”

We take great pride in our ability to provide a service that may improve the lives of our valued clients. We do accept new clients based upon our view of our ability to be of benefit to the client. We believe we can provide great value in many circumstances.

While we wish to be available to assist as many people as possible, we are not available to everyone. In order to maintain our standards we choose to remain small enough to be able to provide the quality of service that we believe our clients deserve and expect from us. There are several ways to qualify to become a client. Please consider our criteria for applying to become a client.

Our firm is based upon a philosophy of openness, honesty, trust, and seeking to “do good” over the long term. We are only interested in building relationships with people who share these values. We seek clients who are looking for a long-term relationship with a quality Financial Advisor and who maintain reasonable expectations about what can be accomplished. A suitable client wants, needs, and understands the need to pay for the attention of a qualified Financial Professional who will be dedicated to serving their needs.

We shun short-term investments such as day trading, commodities, futures, “hot stock tips”, and the like. We believe in installing systems and strategies designed to deliver realistic results over many years. We welcome clients who share this view.

Unlike some brokers and financial planners, we don’t have a fixed minimum investment requirement. Generally, we expect a new client to have an investable portfolio in excess of $50,000 that we will be asked to manage. There are exceptions to every rule. We will gladly accept clients who don't meet our standard minimum investment requirements if they meet some alternative criteria. Examples of this would be a family member of an existing client who does meet our requirements, an employee of an employer with whom we are contracted to provide services, or a referral from another Professional Advisor, Attorney, CPA, etc. with whom we have a relationship. There are no maximums with regard to client account sizes that we can accommodate.

As we are able to provide wide diversification within our systems. When we are retained to provide investment services as a general rule we do not share clients with other brokerage firms or advisors. Since our work is comprehensive in nature, we prefer to handle all of our client's needs when they fall within the domain of services that we offer. Of course we understand that we may be providing advice on accounts that we can’t take over (for example, a company 401(k) that we don’t run)*, and evaluate this on a case by case basis. Please refer to Our Services for more information on services that we offer.

Chemistry is also very important. You will be talking with us about some of the most important issues in your life. We need to feel comfortable speaking honestly and directly with each other. We reserve the right to decline to serve a client who is not willing to provide us with full and complete financial information, or who is not willing to deal with us honestly and openly.

Of course there are many situations and circumstances that we can’t address in this space. Our intent here is merely to provide a sense of who we are and whom we are looking to work with. If you believe that you would be a suitable client, we welcome the opportunity to talk with you. To contact us click here.
